From heiress to shoe-maker: Chloe Green for Topshop

Over the past few years, Topshop has been pretty impressive, with barely a month without a major designer name on an exclusive collection. There has been the likes of Richard Nicoll with his bridal inspired collection, Mary Katrantzou with her fantastic florals  and let’s not forget about JW Anderson with his two school-girl inspired offerings.

But high-end fashion designers have not been the only ones making special and affordable collections for Topshop. In 2012, Topshop heiress Chloe Green dazzled the high street with a vibrant shoe collection, and now she’s back with another. Green apparently spent a few months travelling around America to gain inspiration for her spring/summer 2014 collection. So what’s the result?

She has definitely got it right in sticking to a colour pallet of gold, black, cream and silver. These colours are classic so they tend to go with anything in anyone’s wardrobe.

The studded stilettos, Malibu Stripe sandals and Rio Leopard sandals are a treat, perfect for completing an edgy look. Her suede Santiago pointed court shoes exude elegance, with a laser cut skull appliqué at the back that from a distance resembles a floral pattern.

Green contrasts this well with a couple of Miami summer beach wedges, which will look especially great with maxi dresses. To top off this relaxed feel, she goes back to basics with casual flat butterfly sandals. These are fantastic for those of us who want comfy everyday shoes (and still want to avoid the challenge of not falling over in sky-high heels!)

The addition of scarves in her collection might strike some as unnecessary; although they accompany the shoes nicely, perhaps she might have tried a little more colour for a spring collection.

So overall well done Chloe Green for another collection of statement shoes. Topshop collaborations will be back in May for the long-awaited new collection by Kate Moss. Are we excited? You betcha.
