10 New Years resolutions all London students make but never keep

  1. This year I will walk that extra distance instead of getting the tube for one stop. It’s only five minutes I’m sure.
  2. This year, I will not go out drinking quite so often. Cocktails bars here just get more and more expensive every year it seems.
  3. This year, I’ll give the Oxford Street sales a miss. It’s crowded and who needs to spend money on pretend reductions anyway?
  4. This year, when the weather gets better, I will give the Boris bikes a go or go running around Victoria Park or something. Or maybe at least walk around it.
  5. This year, I will see the sites the city has to offer. No more sitting inside watching Netflix until my eyes bleed, going to go and see the views, the views, the museums, the whole shebang.
  6. This year, I will stop ordering takeaway quite so often. Despite their ubiquity in East London.
  7. This year, I will actually make use of the educational resources of the city. Come on, we live in a city with the UK’s biggest and best library in it, maybe GoogleBooks is a little limited.
  8. This year, I will keep my eyes peeled for better deals on food. In other words, I will take that extra 5 minute walk to the Lidl in Limehouse.
  9. This year, when I do go out, I will plan my route home before I’m there, lest I get left with a dead phone and no CityMapper.
  10. This year…who are we kidding? This year will be as wonderfully, messed-up as the last.
