Following the success of its 2015 debut, MIRRORS returns to Hackney for its sophomore year. With an eclectic range of artists, the one day festival promises to offer a much-needed injection of musical vitality as winter draws in. Headliner Bat For Lashes is known for her unconventional stage presence and artistry perhaps more theatrical than a musical. Further acts include American jangly rockers Allah-Las, reverb-soaked Babe Heaven and ex-Coral man Bill Ryder Jones. MIRRORS promises to showcase some of the most independent, unique and, most of all, interesting acts on the London scene.
Expanding on 2015’s multi-venue format, the festival will take place in 6 diverse Hackney venues. Expect terrific acoustics in St John’s at Hackney, while Oslo brings a unique Nordic aesthetic to Hackney Central. New for 2016 are Moth Club, Hackney Picturehouse, Stage 3 at Hackney Empire, and Paper Dress Vintage. Hosting a stage will be Manchester group Bad Language Literature with Eddie Argos, among others.
So for those looking for something a little different, yet still utterly vibrant, this October, MIRRORS is not to be missed.
