Read ‘Corner’ by Siobhan Luff.
The bed sheet is off the corner,
It always angers her.
Just because of the tossing and turning,
Only becoming through lies and hurting.
The partnership we weren’t ready for,
And this old bed, we can’t afford anymore.
Our wedlock baby, now her distance lately,
Residing in that place that will always blame me.
“Why’s daddy on the sofa?”
What breakfast of lies will you tell her?
“Fix the corner! Make it perfect, make it new.”
“Fix it forever, before I quit you.”
“It’s off the corner,”
It’s shards through my head,
Burn them all; ablaze but dead.
