With the summer days steadily approaching it is time to consider some trends for the upcoming season.
The runways were packed with ideas and needless to say that there is definitely something for everyone this summer season.
The first two on the list are colours: Pink and Yellow. You can incorporate the whole palette if you wish, from fuchsia to babydoll pink, from mustardy yellow to golden colours.
But don’t worry if these are not your colours. Stripes, 80’s metallic’s, geometric cut-outs and prints are back in fashion. Be bold, mix them all!
Indeed, the idea of PICK and MIX or MIX and MATCH, pioneered by Gucci this season, is not a trend-piece per se but rather a new amplified way of layering clothes and playing with styles. Just side note, if you are looking for some inspiration in this department then definitely check Leandra Medine’s Instagram account.
If you don’t fancy bright colours and eccentric looks, try post-minimalism. It seems like simply tailored clothes have been left aside by designers, instead a lot of them have re-conceptualised minimalism through different shapes, volumes, textures, unexpected cuts and folds. Asymmetric and oversized shirts, blazers with huge padded shoulders, trousers with foldover waists.
If getting something just for the sake of a trend is really not your thing, I have you covered here. I am sure all of us have a jumpsuit hidden somewhere in the closet. Good news! Looks like these are in for both day AND night. So take your chance to wear something super comfy and fashionable now!
Whenever you are feeling romantic or especially springy, wear flowers! The more the better. Floral prints are back in fashion this season. Mix the prints and experiment.
Fancy some time travelling? Try more frills and tulles!
But, if there was one style advice I could give you for this summer it would be to just have fun styling your outfits, don’t be scared to look weird or silly, just experiment and trust me, just feeling good and owning your look makes all the difference!
