ERDEM x H&M

Think back two years ago to BALMAIN x H&M, the collaboration that made an insane amount of people camp outside H&M stores and the one opportunity us normal people had to look like the Kardashians. I remember that Thursday morning, going to the H&M Stratford store after an unwanted 9am only to find it looking like it had been invaded by an actual army. The good news is the H&M designer collaboration is back on 2nd November with a collection from Erdem, who for the first time ever, have done a menswear collection.

Ederm are one of London Fashion Weeks favourite, their nature and historical inspired pieces with floral prints and forest vibes work well for anyone who wants to be subtle but elegant. Erdem believes in the power of beauty and each of his pieces have a personal narrative. For ERDEM X H&M he’s taken inspiration from all of his past collections to create a body of work that represents the brand and delicate craftsmanship.

The H&M designer collaborations spark the same debate as the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration. Should high end fashion brands really be producing clothes with a fast fashion outlet? H&M although promoting suitability, still throw out new collections weekly and contribute to the issue of pollution in fashion. The nature of this collaboration does undermine high end fashion, however the collaboration is a big part of fashion as a culture. It’s exciting when a brand you obsess over on the runway becomes available in in a store we can all afford. The mid range pricing of the collection is perfect because it’s enough for a limited edition piece but not too much that it breaks the bank.

The Erdem collection is giving tradition British and Liberties vibes, here are a few favorites from the lookbook:

For the girls, Erdems leopard fur coat is a good choice for anyone who loves a bit of luxury, the black ribbon finishes it off to suit the traditional British look. The second favourite are silk pyjama style bottoms, nothing is more important than comfort when it comes to style!
