In need of something to do for Christmas or New Years?
The Black Cat Cabaret might just be what you are looking for.
Having toured and performed their established and critically acclaimed show around the world, The Black Cat Cabaret is launching at London’s Leicester Square from the 11th of November. Leicester Square is being transformed into a European Christmas Market for the winter period – a perfect backdrop for this festive show. It is a modern take on the Belle Époque: a period of art and cultural exuberance before World War One, which gave birth to the iconic Can-Can dance – considered so scandalous at the time members of the public tried to repress it!
However, The Black Cat Cabaret is a rebellion against conservatism, describing themselves as: ‘purveyors of finest cabaret noir’, it is a fantastically dark and fabulous explosion of cabaret and circus. Expect an explosion of: ‘high-kicking showgirls, jaw-dropping acrobats, comic street singers, musicians and aerialists’, to provide you with a thrilling and memorable night of entertainment.
The Black Cat Cabaret launches on the 11th of November and concludes in a spectacular New Year Celebration on the 31st of December. I would strongly urge you to book your tickets in advance, for having been a sell-out at the Southbank in the summer, I can predict it will be the same for this winter.
But do not just take my word for it, The Black Cat Cabaret has been showered with praise by both local and worldwide media, with the Guardian describing it as: ‘Cabaret in it’s most extraordinarily suave form’, and Time Out as: ‘London’s trailblazing, hell-raising cabaret troupe’.
Watch this space for a full review of the show will follow in the first week of December…
