Trends You Will See in 2018

3 years ago Tina Wetshi

New year, new trends! Last year was the revival of the 90s, sportswear became extremely popular even amongst those who might not have been sporty since high school. 2018 is not going to look much different, instead new angles to existing trend will come into existence.

Sports Inspired

Sportswear and exercise clothing doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere this year. Fenty x Puma and Leomie Anderson’s Lapp the Brand are introducing hoodies and shorts which look like they’ve been inspired by cycling outfits. Sportswear is a great trend because it allows us to be comfortable yet fashionable.

Statement Jewellery

Jewellery is also making a massive comeback, continuing with the 90s craze that hit us last year, statement jewellery and loud pieces will be prominent in 2018, this includes massive earrings, large rings and big necklaces. This year it’s the bigger the better when it comes to jewellery.

Prints Prints Prints

Prints has been a reoccurring trend in the past few years with fashion houses constantly mixing up different prints to create looks that absurdly work. Whether it’s tartan and stripes or stripes and leopard print, the more absurd the cooler. Prints are a fun way to change up your existing wardrobe, there’s no need to buy anything new all you have to do it pair things up differently.

Logo tee’s

Another that tend that is continuing into the new year is logo and statements tees. Last year we saw Dior tell everyone to become feminists and this year fashion brands are continuing to share protest messages, self-love slogans and motivational statements. In a time where politics and the people is so prominent, these tops are great way for us to express what we believe in and what we stand for. The only issue with this is that some high street stores can mimic t-shirts on the catwalk with messages that are cliché– that’s something to stay away from in 2018.
