In need of plans this Saturday? Do you consider yourself a bit of a musical connoisseur? Well, then have I got just the event to make your weekend start with a bang, or shall I say a tremor if we are getting technical in the music sense. As part of their Festival 100, which consists of a series of experiential brunches featuring West End talent, live music and much much more in celebration of the summer, 100 Wardour St is launching an exclusive Sister Act Brunch. That’s right, a brunch inspired by the two films starring Whoopi Goldberg as an established, worldly singer who is forced into hiding disguised as a nun in a traditional convent after witnessing a mob crime. Ace Production has teamed up with 100 Wardour St for the first ever time to create this brunch, which did I also mention has an option to add on bottomless bubbles? Which of course any sane person wouldn’t think twice about doing…
So as well as sampling a three-course brunch menu, guests can expect to be immersed in a performance retelling the story of Sister Act, more specifically, the story of Sister Mary Clarence and nuns. The history of the stylish venue makes it an ideal destination for such an event, for in 1964 the Marquee Club moved into this legendary London music venue and hosted acts such as David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and The Sex Pistols. However, this time round a harmoniously and melodiously blessed West End Choir will be responsible for providing the music. They will be recreating the classics from both films, as well as singing uplifting gospel songs to fit with the overall theme of the brunch. As stated above, the brunch will take place this Saturday, the 28thof July, and is the perfect way to toast the end of July and welcome the start of August.
