No matter your destination in London, whatever winding road you walk up, you are bound to come across a theatre. London is known for showcasing a variety of theatrical shows as well as musicals, many of which have permanent residencies in the West End. Already off the top of my head I have been lucky enough to have seen: The Lion King, Grease, Wicked, The Book of Mormon, Shrek the Musical, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat…
But this article is all about advertising a new kind of musical spectacular coming to London. More specifically, coming to Soho’s 100 Wardour St as part of their ‘Festival 100 summer series’ is ‘West End on Wardour’. The history of the stylish venue makes it an ideal destination for such an event, for in 1964 the Marquee Club moved into this legendary London music venue and hosted acts such as David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and The Sex Pistols. However, this time round, 100 Wardour St gives a very warm welcome to Emma Lindars who will be the face of their West End on Wardour event. Her impressive resume: she has starred in Shrek the Musical, Sound of Music, Priscilla, and Made in Dagenham, makes it easy to see why she has been personally chosen to honour guests with her expertise. On Wednesday the 18thof Juley at 7pm, Emma will be gifting guests with an intimate and enchanting musical performance, whilst the venue will also be providing guests with dinner from a weekly set menu and drinks (bottomless wine can also be added on at your request- it just gets better and better doesn’t it?!). Emma will also be joined by a special guest (I am not going to tell you who so as to preserve the mystery and build anticipation) who also comes with an impressive theatre resume.
This really will be a night to remember as guests can gorge themselves on the finest food and drink whilst singing along to the hits of the most well known West End musicals. So book your tickets for a night that is guaranteed to be the highlight of your summer. If you cannot make this Wednesday, the 18thof July, the performance will also take place every Wednesday for the remained of July.
