London Cocktail Week is nearly upon us and to celebrate, The Broken Shaker, rated number eighteen on the World’s Best Bars list, is taking up residency at Madison rooftop bar, London. It will be bringing its tropical vibes all the way from Miami to London for an exclusive pop up from Tuesday the 2nd of October, to Friday the 5th of October. What is not to love so far? And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better… Bobby Eldridge, The Broken Shaker’s very own cocktail connoisseur, will be providing a bespoke drinks menu throughout this period, and Miami’s top female bartender Courtney Lane will be by his side helping out. The duo is set to shake and stir Londoners until their thirst is quenched at this beloved St Paul’s venue. It will be the perfect after-work (or after-uni in my case!) destination for cocktail lovers and late-night London revellers!
I can imagine The Broken Shaker’s Bar in Miami overlooks lush views of rippling and cascading sea waves, but in London, Madison will be offering stunning and unrivalled views of the city’s skyline instead. This will be through their glamorous floor to ceiling windows, as well as their rooftop terrace. Expect to spot landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral (which when stood on the terrace, you feel as if you can reach out and touch it), The Shard, The Skygarden, The London Eye and The Tate Modern, to name a few! The Broken Shaker will be injecting a taste of the tropical however, through their signature “backyard” style decor. This hybridity will also seep into the cocktail menu itself as a blend of local and exotic ingredients will be mixed together. Guests can expect to sample cocktails such as the refreshing grapefruit and garden shrub infused Lion’s Club, whiskey-based Thai Tea Sazerac, and Coco-nut Case, composed of Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila, Koko Kanu, fresh lime, kaffir agave and a coconut citrus sea salt rim. My mouth is watering already! Is yours?
Alongside these sumptuous beverages, Madison will also be serving up a selection of the venue’s classic aperitifs such as the Mocha Negroni, the tequila, vanilla and grapefruit-infused Sancho’s Special, and the Fair and Square: peanut butter-washed Bulleit Rye, dark chocolate-infused Hennessy, red Vermouth, Benedictine and bitters.
Leslie Kwarteng, Senior General Manager of Madison, says:
“We are delighted to be welcoming The Broken Shaker team to Madison this October, bringing a flavour of Miami to the Square Mile over London Cocktail Week.”
