Christmas Make-Up Ideas – It’s the season to Sparkle!

The party season has arrived and it’s the time to look fabulous and shine as bright as the Christmas lights! Here are some make-up ideas you can attempt to jazz up your look this festive period.

Classic Red Lip.

In fact, you can never go wrong with a red lip and it is the perfect colour for the Christmas season. You can try different shades of red like dark, plum red lips or a brighter, cranberry shade red. I’d recommend using a matte red lipstick to make the look stand out and look neat. My personal favourites are the Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour in the shade Pirate and Rimmel Kate Lipstick in the Shade #1. These lipsticks are perfect for evenings and to create an easy glamour look.

Glitter Eye-Liner.

Ditch the boring black eyeliner and try a glitter eyeliner! It adds an instant sparkle to your overall look and shouts ‘Party!’. Use a festive glitter like Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner to create fine, glittery lines. They come in a range of 11 different shades and they are so versatile. You can even use the liner to sweep across the eyelids to create a dazzling sparkly eye!

Christmas Themed Eyeshadow.

We all know the classic colours we associate with Christmas are red, green, gold and silver right? These colour eyeshadows look beautiful in the evening for parties. To achieve this look, apply primer to your lids and for this, I recommend using the NYX Glitter Primer as this helps to keep the eyeshadow and glitter in place and last all night. In the crease and lower lash line of your eye, blend warm colours like browns and berry reds and on the eyelid, add a gold or silver glitter or shimmery eyeshadow. This look is so simple and effortlessly easy to achieve. I’d also recommend using a nude tone lipstick with these eye shadow colours as you want your glittery eyes to be the centre of attention.

If you feel like experimenting with colours, why not bring the festive shades together and add green eyeliner on either the top or bottom lash line? This instantly adds a pop of colour to your look and is beautiful when teamed up with either gold or silver eyeshadow.

Rose Gold Eyeshadow and Rose Lips

If you’re someone that’s not into bright colours, you can never go wrong with a soft, shimmery rose gold eyeshadow. This look is super simple to achieve and is perfect for anyone looking for a natural but Christmassy look. To achieve this look, I’d recommend keeping your skin dewy and focusing on bronzing and highlighting. This will look perfect with the soft rose gold eye shadow. In the crease of the eye, blend in an orange/copper tone eye shadow and then apply a rose gold eyeshadow to your eye lids such as Bobbie Brown’s Shimmer Wash eyeshadow. This eyeshadow is a sheer powder that has light pearl pigments to softly illuminate the eyelids. Darken the outer corners with a soft matte brown eyeshadow to smoke out the look slightly. Use a nude or rosy pink sheer lipstick or gloss on your lips to finish the look and you have the perfect, shimmery but natural Christmas makeup nailed down!
