Get Ready: Fashion Trends for 2019!

Some of you may still be caught in the Christmas spirit, while others may already be thinking about the perfect glittery outfit for entering the New Year in style! However, this is also the perfect moment for getting prepared and informed with the best fashion trends that are expected to take off in 2019. In the end, a true fashion icon is always a step ahead!

When it comes to your choice of sneakers for 2019, I have one simple advice: be as extravagant as possible. The Balenciaga’s Triple S sneakers truly made an impact in the fashion world, and now, various brands are adopting colourful and chunky designs. Recent collections seem to present utilitarian influences, by mixing sneakers with boots and hiking elements.

3. Bike shorts remain a THING!

Things took an interesting turn. While runway collections are supposed to set the start in fashion, when it comes to bike shorts, it seems that street fashion is the one that influenced the big designers. This comfortable style had been endorsed by names such as Chanel, Fendi, Prada and Jacquemus. The Spring 2019 runways confirm that bike shorts are not meant to be a short-lived trend.

4. Oversized hats

If you were up to date with the fashion trends this summer, most probably you observed the Jacquemus La Bomba Hat making an appearance all over Instagram. Such an oversized design will get anyone’s attention, and it truly represents a touch of elegance. This trend is here to stay!

Some people are scared of neon colours, because in reality, you can either do great, or end up with a fashion disaster. But this vibrant trend will be everywhere in 2019, so you better get prepared to take a risk! The SS19 catwalks present head to toe classic neon suits and casual streetstyle aesthetics which seem easier to follow.

6. Cargo pants!

Another streetstyle trend which made its debut on social media. Expect high waisted pants, with big pockets, in beige/khaki colours, everything completed by a long trailing belt. Names such as Fendi and Off-White adopted this style. The retail stores sales prove to us that the popularity of this trend will only grow in 2019!

7. Animal prints!
Get ready to get wild because leopard and snake prints were everywhere during the SS19 runways. Designers such as Off-White, Emporio Armani and Longchamp bravely endorsed the style and mixed it with either leather fringes or oversized puffer coats.

8. Boiler suits

The utilitarian style takes over again! Boiler suits and jumpsuits are being reintroduced in the 2019 collections, but do not expect your usual choices of navy, olive green and black colours. During Paris Fashion Week, Stella McCartney went for bright neon colours and floral prints.
