Invest in Skin Oils

It’s understandable if you are thrown off by skin oils. You’re probably thinking what more can you add to your skincare routine? Isn’t washing your face and moisturising enough? Well, investing in a good skin oil is revolutionary. It can help treat some of the skin issues you are having and protect you from future problems. I am giving you a run down on the oils you need to look radiant and dewy for the rest of your days.

Drunk Elephant: Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil (£34.00)

With their ‘clean-clinical’ approach, Drunk Elephant delivers products free of toxins. Their face oil delivers that and so much more. This skin oil will help reduce signs of ageing and provides some of the most amazing anti-oxidant benefits I have seen. It contains flavonoids, vitamin E, omegas 6 and 9. This formula comes together and makes a skin oil that is soothing, relieves redness and is naturally antimicrobial. Pick this one up if you want to see a reduction in your fine lines or wrinkles.

Peet Rivko: Balancing Face Oil ($44.00)

If you ever need that extra dose of hydration without feeling super greasy, head on over to Peet Rivko because they have the solution for you. This skin oil will nourish and strengthen your skin. Its key ingredients include jojoba, avocado and prickly pear oils. So, you know this oil is great for its anti-oxidant powers and large amount of fatty acids. This oil is perfect for those with oilier skin because jojoba is a more breathable oil and is also lightweight. More importantly, the jojoba breaks down and dissolves sebum. This oil is here to hydrate and control that excess shine.

Kiehl’s: Midnight Recovery Concentrate (£49.50)

One night with this bad boy and you’ll be seeing the clock rewind on your skin the next day. Apply this oil before you to go to bed because it will replenish your skin as you sleep. Naturally, your skin is at its peak of recovering during your sleep, so your skin is more receptive to what you put on your face during your evening skincare routine. This oil acts like a supplement in your overnight recovery process. This is not one to be overlooked!

KORA Organics: Noni Glow Face Oil (£22.00)

This is another great facial oil for those with more delicate and sensitive skin. The product is loved since it contains ingredients like, noni extract, pomegranate oil, sea buckthorn oil and rosehip oil. The Kora Organics oil will take your skin from dull to beautiful as its nourishing and this formula is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids. Your appearance will be smooth and will brighten your skin. This is the product you want if you desire a radiant glow for sensitive skin.

Ogee: Jojoba Restore Face Oil ($64.00)

Even if you have oily skin, you can still wear facial oils, you just need the correct ingredients. The Jojoba Restore Face Oil is one of those oils that is perfect for those with oilier skin. This is a great product as its certified organic, vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free. This oil is a must-have as it will instantly moisturise and restore your skin back to full health.

Elemis: Superfood Facial Oil (£45.00)

The Superfood Facial Oil is perfect if you have dry skin. This award-winning oil contains broccoli, flax seed and daikon radish to give your skin the anti-oxidants it needs. You will feel nourished and renewed with this oil thanks to its hydrating capabilities. This is a rich oil because it’s high in fatty acids. These help condition your skin, reduce irritation from dryness and help lock in that moisture you need. For this one, I recommend adding a few drops of it into your moisturiser, this will prevent dry air from pulling more moisture out of the skin as it will create a hydrating barrier.

Pai: Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil (£15.00)

If you have acne-prone skin you can still reap benefits from facial oils, you just need to choose the right one. Pomegranate and rosehip oils are fantastic for those who are prone to breakouts. This oil doesn’t contain any pomegranate oil from looking at the ingredients list on my bottle. However it has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and is super lightweight, so it’ll have a more calming effect on skin that is breaking out. Then there is rosehip oil, this is perfect for those seriously vicious pimples because it intensely hydrates your skin without clogging your pores and the fatty acids help reduce redness and fade scars. It also has high levels of antioxidants and really helps the complexion.

The Ordinary: 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil (£5.90)

This is an oil I would recommend for those who have more ‘normal’ skin, you know, the type that doesn’t dry out, break out, produce too much oil and is not really sensitive. Of course, you don’t want to tip the scale in either direction, so you just need an oil that won’t dry you out or clog you up. Now, argan oil is a perfect option! This cold pressed argan oil preserves the oil’s vitamins, fatty acids, phenols and carotenes. The Ordinary gives you a really good dose of argan oil. This oil is soothing, settles into the skin well and helps prevent dark spots, fine lines and skin damage. Just make this oil the final part of your morning and evening skincare routine to reap all the benefits.

Aēsop: Fabulous Face Oil (£40.00)

The Fabulous Face Oil is something I would recommend for those who have combination skin. When your face is feeling congested and dull you should use this oil to help your skin feel more replenished and balanced. What makes it even better is that it has a non-greasy finish. The oil’s key ingredients are juniper berry, ylang ylang and jasmine petal. The sweet almond oil will really help those dry areas you have. Just massage three to five drops onto clean skin every morning and evening. You can even add it to another hydrating cream or serum to amplify the hydration.

Simplicity: Moringa Oil ($26.00)

I am recommending the Moringa Oil for those with more sensitive skin. A moringa oil is brilliant because is has fatty acids that will help repair any dry and damaged skin. It also has antioxidants that will protect your skin from free radicals and it is anti-inflammatory. This oil is designed to help moisturise skin without irritating it. It’s lightweight formula is perfect to wear under your makeup. Another benefit to this product is that it has anti-ageing benefits and will help protect your skin against future breakouts.
