Chanel: Rouge Allure (99 – Pirate)

Rouge Allure by Chanel is not a range to be overlooked. This blue-toned red is a classic. It’s rich and screams sophistication. It has a radiant, satin finish, and is super pigmented. This formula is really light and is the epitome of femininity. Pick up a tube from Chanel when you’re in the mood to unleash your inner Parisian girl.

Charlotte Tilbury: Matte Revolution (Red Carpet Red)

The Matte Revolution range will give you plump, hydrated lips, that still give a matte finish formula to be envied by all. This is an excellent red if you want to embody the classic old Hollywood glamour. It will give you long-lasting pigment. The design of the lipstick is also fantastic as it mimics the shape of a lip brush with the square, angled tip. enabling precise application.

MAC: Retro Matte Lipstick (Ruby Woo)

Ruby Woo, a Retro Matte Lipstick by MAC, is the perfect tube to pick up if you’re beginning your journey in applying red lipstick. It is probably the most iconic lipstick and product created by MAC that gives intense colour payoff with a matte finish. It’s long-wearing, non-feathering and fade-proof. This is the initiation red lipstick and I can wholeheartedly say I wouldn’t start with any other red lipstick from any other brand.

Burberry: Burberry Kisses (No.109 – Military Red)

Burberry Kisses offers the opportunity to build up to the intensity of red you want out of your tube. It’s got this rich formula with satin-finish pigment and shiny polymers to give you luminous lips. This formula is also really lightweight and hydrating. I have tried out so many colours from this range, and the reds definitely come out on top, it’s definitely worth trying out the darker reds too.

KKW Beauty: Red Crème Lipsticks (Classic Red)

I honestly didn’t expect to find the perfect red from KKW Beauty, an excellent nude, but nothing that involved serious levels of pigment. However, this one takes the crown, because this is a fantastic red crème lipstick. The moisturising extracts and oils makes this is one of the better creamy lipsticks that I have tried.

Gucci: Rouge à Lèvres Voile Lipstick (25 – Goldie Red)

If you’re looking for a lipstick that is not sheer and packs on pigment then this is not the red lipstick for you. This is a sheer finish lipstick with a semitransparent colour and a luminous shine. I was a bit sceptical when my mum picked this one up for me, but it’s really great to wear in warm weather, or if you’re just in the mood to pop up on a bit of colour without the commitment. It also makes the most brilliant blush!

Christian Louboutin: Velvet Matte (Rouge Louboutin)

Christian Louboutin made red iconic, so it’s worth giving their red lipstick a shot, you will feel regal within seconds of applying it. I prefer the velvet matte formula from Louboutin because it has that rare non-drying formula. It’s definitely worth trying out!
